Committee Meeting:  The newly formed "Focus on Mental Health" committee will meet via Zoom on Monday, 11/13/23 at 1 PM for our initial brainstorming session.  If anyone would like to join the call, please let Michele Hohlfeld know.

Upper Perk Code Blue Shelter:  A local Homelessness Task Force is working to open a "Code Blue" shelter for local homeless men on nights when the temperatures fall to a specified level.  The exact start date has not been determined yet but for any Rotarians that are interested in helping at the shelter, one training session is necessary.  There are two options:
Thursday, 11/16/23 7-9 PM or Sunday 11/19/23 3-5 PM.  Both sessions are being offered at Upper Perk Community Church, 258 Main St., East Greenville (corner across from UPVCC office).  If you want to attend, please let Michele Hohlfeld know.

UPV Winter Tree Lighting Festival:  On Saturday, Dec. 2, 3-7 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 81 N. Main St. in East Greenville, we'll  have a free "make it and take it" craft table for children and also sell our "Hometown Favorites" cookbooks.  Volunteers are needed so please let Sarah Toback know if you are available to help.

Cookbook Sales at Holiday Bazaar:  We will be selling our "Hometown Favorites" cookbooks at the PTFS Holiday Bazaar.  This holiday bazaar will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, 9 AM - 3 PM at the UPSD Middle School on Montgomery Ave. in Pennsburg.  Volunteers are needed to staff the table.  If you can spare even an hour or two, please contact Lori Ritting to sign up.

First Monday Meal:  Watch for a SignUp Genius email to sign up to help with the December First Monday Meal on Monday Dec. 4.  We'll be serving appetizers, baked ham, hashbrown casserole (Danielle Kates' recipe from our cookbook!), green beans and dessert.

Youth Services: If you are interested in participating with this committee, please reach out to Kyle so he knows to include you. This committee will need help as we look more into expanding our youth involvement. There are some events in the very near future such as the Four Way Test Speech Contest that he will need help with.
