Hello Fellow Rotarians! Please mark your calendars and come help us with our club's biggest fundraiser. The more help we have, the less work for everyone else. We are looking to make some big changes this year with the schedule, to the extent it may free up some time to relax in the early afternoon unless we find more events to run. Moving forward, we hope to fill this time with other events however, that is all based on the amount of help we have. Couple changes so far for this year: Car Show moving from afternoon to morning, foodtruck times will change (which may lessen the need for as much kitchen help), Pennsburg UCC doing carnival games again but also moving from afternoon to morning, etc.. I will keep people posted as we confirm more stuff. As always, if you have any ideas and how to implement them, please do not hesitate to reach out to me so we can look into it. Confirmed Schedule of Events so far: · 7am - Park Opens · Donations Accepted for Parking · Vendors Welcome 9am - 1pm · 8am - 10am - Baked Breakfast Items with Doughlicious · 9am - Fireman’s Water Battle · 9am - 1pm - Car/Truck/Bike Independence Cruise-In Show with the Poor Bastards Car Club - Best of Show 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place and Rotarian Choice Plaques Awarded (Free to Enter, donations accepted) (Cars are welcome to stay past 1pm) · 9am - 1pm Kid’s Carnival Games Courtesy of Pennsburg UCC · 9am - Face Painter Lady Katie · 10am - 1pm & 5pm - 9pm - The HAWG HOUSE Food Truck · 10am - Pet Contest with Logan’s Heroes - Enter your pet (costumes encouraged) for a chance to win 1 of 3 $25 Walmart Gift Cards. Judging at 11am ($2 Donation to Logan’s Heroes to Enter) · 10am-1pm – Moon Bounce for Kids – $1 for 3 minutes · 11am - 1pm & 4pm - 8pm Funnel Cakes by Upper Perk Rotary · 12:30pm (TENTATIVE) - Bike Decorating Contest hosted by Bike & Sol - Kids 12 & under come out with your already decorated bike (Parents welcome to help). · ALL kids MUST wear a helmet when riding. Nov 06, 2024 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Please remember to register by Wednesday 10/30/2024. If you cannot attend, please select to Decline so we know the invitation was received. We hope to have as many members as possible attend this meeting, input from all members from charter members to new members and all those in between is important for the future of our club. If you can attend, please come up with some ideas for the 5 points below, you can either come prepared with your ideas or send them to Cathy before the meeting so she can start working on putting stuff together. Even if it is something you think may be fitting for the club or something you would like to see the club do but, do not know how much interest there would be, still bring it up for discussion. The only bad ideas are no ideas. This meeting (and possibly the next) we will be continuing with Cathy's 10/2 Meeting conversation of: Reflect on the prior year: 1) things that you want more of 2) less of 3) things to start 4) things to stop 5) things to keep As it does in all service clubs, membership has changed over the past few years as well as our member's personal/professional lives/commitments and we need to see what directions work best for the Club and our members. This will also help us start Strategic Planning again while focusing on how to get our existing members more involved, member retention as well as how we can attract new members to our club. We will also start discussing elections for the next Rotary year (25/26) and start discussing a succession plan beyond that year. The positions available for 25/26 will be Treasurer & Secretary. While the Vice President position will not be available until the 26/27 year, it is important to have a succession plan, if you think you may be interested in an executive position, please let Bob or Cathy know. The 26/27 Vice President would not have their first President term until the 2029/2030 Rotary Year. The food for this meeting will be the buffet style apps. We hope to see you there, Bob |
